WASHINGTON’S PREMIER CLASSIC ROCK BAND

Playing for the first time at the Buffs, although the guys regularly come to see other acts there when they’re having a night off, RELOAD played an excellent set there on
Friday 24th April. The band arrived before the DJ, something of a first, and didn’t even complain too much about having to hump all their gear up 2 flights of stairs –
again, something of a first.
The band were all set up and sound checked by just after 7.30 which allowed the punters the unaccustomed luxury of not having to sit through 45 minutes of ‘Check 1 2’ whilst
relaxing after a week’s hard graft. RELOAD played a solid rock based set with confidence and talent; ranging from Bill Wither’s ‘Ain’t no sunshine’ through ‘Comfortably
numb’ (it’s a brave guitarist who tries to emulate the solo from the Pulse DVD/CD
to ‘White Room’ & ‘Tush’.
For such a brief sound check, the sound was excellent, loud without being turned up to number 11 and beautifully balanced. The punters loved them too, the air guitarists
were out in force in the first set and the dancers were up in the second. The Buffs
always gets a good write-
bands always say they enjoy playing there (well, they would, wouldn’t they?).
In short,
a helluva set from RELOAD who gave value for money and a solid, professional performance
– they’re welcome back any time.
